This snapped me out of my blog ennui...

This article at Science Daily. High fructose corn syrup is obviously of the devil.
"A Princeton University research team has demonstrated that all sweeteners are not equal when it comes to weight gain: Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same."
I've taken to reading labels carefully. After I read this article, I thought about what we had for supper, Mexican Chicken Soup, brown rice, tortilla chips, salsa, cheese, sour cream, iced tea and banana nut muffins (yeah, I know they don't go, but I had two brown bananas and they were really good...recipe which I amended to half whole wheat flour and the cream top off of Stonyfield Organic Yogurt). None of it had any HFCS in it. Hooray!
I try to make us healthier foods and do succeed a lot of the time, but I know sometimes I use things I shouldn't. Like last night I used Knorr French Onion soup mix on some potatoes and carrots I roasted. I could have made my own mix, but I had the Knorr and I'm trying to use up some of the stuff we have. We did have roast chicken, salmon from Whole Foods and organic broccoli, too, though.
It's a process... Now for more Dr. Who. We saw the first full David Tennant last night.

Oh, yay! You're finally watching David Tennant! You will LIKE him. He will probably be your new favorite doctor. Sometimes his sidekicks can be a little over the top, but what else are sidekicks for.

Also, your food sounds yum. I think you should cook for me. I'm sick of it.

Oh, also, I was reading somewhere that HFCS has a different reaction in your brain than sugar and it keeps your brain from triggering the "full" response, so you can eat it forever and ever.

It might not be true, but it sounds really fancy.
